CURRENCY
Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted in Portugal. Most debit cards are also accepted. If using a credit or debit card, make sure to always pay in euro instead of USD, so you get the best rate on the exchange. You can visit an ATM to withdraw local currency, which is highly recommend. Most purchases under 20 euro are cash only.
TIPPING
When having a meal at a sit-down restaurant, a 10% cash tip is customary if you received excellent service. Some places will have a service charge already included in the bill, so you do not need to tip on top of that. You should always tip your hotel staff and porters a few euro whenever you use their services. You should also tip your tour guides (5 euros per person for a half day, 10 euros per person for a full day).

ACCESSIBILITY
In the major cities, most bus stations, train stations, hotels, and airports have accessible accomodations. When traveling outside the cities, you will see fewer accessible spots.
